JYUTONE Overview
Jyutone is a Cantonese pronunciation practice app. We do not require an account. This policy explains what data we process, why, and your choices.

Data we process
Practice audio: when you request a pronunciation score, the app uploads that recording to our servers for forced alignment and scoring. We do not build a voiceprint library to train third-party models. Audio is used to complete that assessment and is not kept as a long-term cloud voice archive.
Anonymous device ID: the app generates and records a device number on the device to bind subscription entitlements and free assessment quotas. It is not used for advertising tracking.
Purchases and subscriptions: on iOS, handled by the Apple App Store; on Android, by Google Play Billing. We receive and verify store transaction data (product ID, transaction identifiers, expiry) to unlock Jyutone+.
On-device progress: check-ins, weak sounds, and practice history stay on the device. Practice reminders use local system notifications.
Technical logs: servers may briefly retain IP address, timestamps, and error data for quotas, security, and troubleshooting.
Purposes
Provide scoring and practice features; manage free quotas and subscriptions; restore purchases and process store billing notifications (Apple and Google Play); keep the service reliable and secure. We do not sell personal data or track you across other companies’ apps for ads.
Sharing
Payments and subscriptions are processed by Apple or Google Play, depending on the platform. Practice catalog and model audio may be served from our static hosting (for example content.jyutone.com). We do not sell or rent your practice data to unrelated third parties except when required by law or to protect the service.
Retention and deletion
On-device data can be removed by uninstalling the app or clearing app data. Subscription state follows your Apple ID or Google account, together with our entitlement ledger. To request deletion of server-side entitlement or quota records tied to your device number, email [email protected] and include the device ID shown in the app.
Children
Jyutone is a language-learning tool and is not directed at children under 13. If you believe we collected a child’s personal information, contact us so we can delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will update the date on this page. Continued use of the app means you understand the updated policy.
